What you will do

A Junior Research Analyst requires the ability to review detailed qualitative and quantitative data. The focus of the position is on root cause analysis, research, and testing support for internally escalated issues and quantifications'. It also requires testing support for defects and anomalies reported during project testing and rollouts.

Responsibilities

This individual will concentrate on:

  • Working with Senior Analysts and Business Owners to understand Business Processes and Systems
  • Basic research into escalated issues reported through various groups, including both production issues and testing defects.
  • Documentation and quantification of issues, analysis of impact on customers and business for appropriate prioritization.
  • Testing, including support of internal developers and third-party vendors during development and unit testing phases.

The individual will learn how to look for patterns in data and develop a general knowledge of research and data analysis methods.  This individual will also develop comfort evaluating statistical information to derive meaning. The individual must have exposure to SQL so that he/she can generate data required for analysis and will be ready to be trained on more complex queries that may be required for specific analyses.

Work independently on research requests from internal customers related to potential issues with transaction processes.  This would include review of Splunk and Glassdoor sessions, testing/troubleshooting, and data analysis necessary to identify, understand and quantify issues.

Independent testing of existing processes including generating test cases, creation of test data, executing testing, identifying issues and working with design and development resources to get appropriate resolutions both to test for potential fixes and enhancements.  

Produce and maintain documentation on all activities (test cases generated, reports created, etc.) to facilitate ready reference and re-use.

Create request for change for all identified issues with detailed impact analysis, requirements and use cases.

Provide feedback on improvement/enhancement opportunities in assigned channel(s).

Required Experience

Associates Degree or equivalent (2 years) combination of education and industry related work experience in wireless telecommunication or automation.

2 yrs of experience with research, data analysis and analytical work or coursework, and/or experience with operational processes in any of the following:

  • IVR/PBX functionality
  • SMS Campaign Flows
  • Web bested testing
  • Web development
  • Test case creation
  • UI specs analysis
  • Data Analysis
  • Telecommunication operations
