We’re looking for a talented, curious, and empathic research-focused professional to join our team as Innovation research lead.

The Role

As Innovation Research Lead, you’ll join our experience design team to focus on leading innovation research projects for some of the world’s largest companies (Shell, GSK, and IBM to name a few).

Research is a big part of what we do, and core to every client partnership. You will work closely with our Head of UX, CIO, user researchers, and the rest of our team to lead and deliver innovation projects for our clients, and occasionally lend a hand with our range of products and internal innovation.

You’ll conduct a wide variety of predominantly qualitative research, helping our partners understand and solve their business challenges. From discovery and definition to solution validation, you will facilitate workshops using design thinking techniques to delve deeper into problems, interview stakeholders and users, and manage innovation projects for clients alongside our CIO and Head of UX.

Every project and problem is different and you will be comfortable partnering with designers to run experiments, to quickly understand the validity of new ideas, and conducting desk research to understand the market and competitive landscape.

The Person

This role is for someone who enjoys getting stuck into big problems, with demonstrable experience in facilitating workshops and conducting qualitative and secondary research.

You might have a user research background, be a service or user experience designer looking for a more research-focused role, have lived and breathed market research, worked in a product-focused role, or have been a champion of customer experience.

  • Be able to demonstrate experience conducting qualitative and secondary research
  • Be able to effectively communicate research findings to stakeholders
  • Have an understanding of design thinking techniques and experience facilitating workshops
  • Be familiar with Product and UX design methodologies, understanding how research ties into the wider design process.
  • You will be comfortable leading research across multiple projects
  • Have some familiarity with market, industry, and competitor analysis
  • Be an excellent collaborator and understand how we are stronger for working together
  • Enjoy working in a client-facing and user-facing role
  • Be happy to travel on occasion
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have the right to work in the UK
