If this sounds like you, and you want to join us on our mission to radically disrupt a trillion dollar fintech industry, keep reading to find out how.As the Lead Researcher, you will work to create understanding and empathy of our users, and uncover latent user needs for cross-functional teams including design, product management, marketing, and engineering. You will focus your efforts on exploring user behaviors and motivations through a variety of methods such as surveys, usability studies, analysis, etc. This role will inspire innovation and change at all stages of the product by delivering reports and presentations on your findings.

What You Will Work On

  • Qualitative Research — Usability Lab
  • Determine and prioritize projects for qualitative research
  • Design and run qualitative research, from screener development through moderating
  • Report findings and work with team to make them actionable
  • Build upon and add capabilities for our qualitative research function
  • Analyze results and deliver operational research insights into actionable, measurable goals that ensure accountability through product lifecycles
  • Understand and incorporate business and technical requirements into research studies
  • Quantitative Research
  • Build upon and add capabilities for our quantitative research function
  • Prototype, improve, and maintain a system for doing this research
  • Report on learnings in ways that are distributable, actionable, and useful
  • Analyze results and deliver operational research insights into actionable, measurable goals that ensure accountability through product lifecycles
  • Understand and incorporate business and technical requirements into research studies
  • Analysis and Reporting
  • Analyze and report on research metrics
  • Create reports and presentations that deliver actionable measurable insights that ensure accountability through product lifecycles
  • Aid in managing metrics vendors and agencies
  • Advocate research findings to diverse audiences in the company through written reports and in-person presentations
  • Mentoring and Leadership
  • Lead coordination of research efforts across methodologies/tools
  • Create research deliverables that bring insights to the whole company
  • Champion research internally
  • Mentor and/or manage junior researchers
  • Collaborate inside and outside of the design and research team to identify and investigate topics/trends that are strategically relevant to the entire company
  • Lead projects at all stages of the development process from exploratory/discovery, to design and development, to evaluative beta-testing and go-to-market monitoring
  • Work with the research team to evangelize research best practices, elevate and expand the research practice through improvements to process, tools, training, and other capabilities

Ideal background and expertise

  • 6+ years of experience as a ux researcher working on digital products
  • Experience designing and conducting both qualitative and quantitative studies including but not limited to surveys, polls, usability studies, diary studies, interviews, benchmark studies, etc.
  • Experience with quantitative data analysis
  • Experience evaluating qualitative studies
  • Track record of influencing product direction and strategy with actionable insights
