The Inclusive Product team at Pinterest is a cross-functional team whose mission is to ensure that everyone feels like Pinterest is a place for them. As a researcher on the Inclusive Product team, you’ll report into the Manager for Pinner Growth and Engagement Research and work alongside Product, Engineering, Design, Analytics, Content Design, and our Inclusion & Diversity team to create impactful experiences that are inclusive by design, such as hair pattern search and skin tone ranges.We’re looking for a qualitative researcher to lead research that creates a shared understanding of the experiences and needs of users from historically marginalized communities. The ideal candidate is an experienced researcher who can lead, design, execute, and communicate impactful research in newly chartered product spaces. They are also deeply passionate about diversity, equity, and building inclusive experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Prioritize and conduct research that varies in approach, scale, scope, timeframe and methodologies across multiple work streams, making sure to work on the right project at the right time
  • Select and communicate the appropriate method or mix of methods (ranging from usability testing, diary studies, semi-structured interviews, participatory workshops, and everything in between) to answer questions for product teams and our broader company
  • Build strong relationships as a strategic partner with Product, Design, Engineering, Content Design, Analytics, and Inclusion & Diversity to identify high impact work and ensure it lands within teams
  • Proactively communicate and share research findings with product teams, executives, and other audiences in compelling, actionable, and engaging ways
  • Help advocate and build empathy for the needs and challenges of historically marginalized communities across different areas of the product
  • Help build a culture of inclusive research practice at Pinterest, serving as a subject matter expert

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years experience designing and conducting end-to-end product research (from initial design and recruitment through final deliverable) as part of cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated passion and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Experience crafting research studies aimed at understanding the needs of people from historically marginalized backgrounds to inform product and design decisions
  • Experience contributing to cross-functional teams working to make products more accessible, equitable, and inclusive
  • Ability to toggle between owning and executing end-to-end research and leveraging insights to shape strategy and influence decision making with leaders
  • Curiosity, self-awareness, humility, and a drive for growth, learning, and sharing knowledge
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and group facilitation skills

Colorado Based Applicants Only

  • The minimum and maximum salary for this position is $131,100 to $196,800 in Colorado;
  • This position is eligible for equity;

  • This compensation and benefits information is based on Pinterest’s good faith estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, travel, shift requirements, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise.
