‍UX Researcher

‍At Ethos, we care deeply about our customers and families we serve. As our sole UX Researcher, you will be laying the foundation for UX Research at Ethos. This means you will establish the processes that shape your work and growth!

You will foster a collective understanding of the user needs that drive the product development process. Ranging from concepts all the way to implementation; the primary research, ethnography, and usability testing you do will be continuously integrated into the product. Your insights and perspective will also lead to new products and features.

‍Duties And Responsibilities

• Draw on a multitude of research methodologies to produce actionable recommendations for current and future products
• Educate the rest of the organization about the customers we have today and the ones we'll have tomorrow
• Work with Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to create and execute your research roadmap in a fast paced environment
• Advocate for the customer at a business with complex technical and regulatory requirements
• Over time, grow the UX research function
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Product Design, Human Factors, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of relevant work experience doing ethnographic research, usability studies, product research, and development, to drive business growth
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
• Successful track record of driving business decisions with actionable user insights
• Ability to incorporate technical and business requirements into research
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a senior or lead UX research role
• Understanding of the consumer insurance or finance space
