About the position:

As a Sr. User Researcher at C2FO, you will work closely with global Design, Product, Engineering, and other key stakeholders to drive user-centered insights throughout the company and help inform product direction.You will use your expertise to design generative and evaluative research, leveraging your curiosity to determine methodologies that provide the most relevant information for the task at hand. You’ll also lead and moderate research activities, reporting the findings to clearly articulate the needs, pain points, and key circumstances surrounding our target customer base.

Essential Duties:

  • Collaborate with global Design, Product, and Engineering to orchestrate and execute primary and secondary research activities including customer interviews, ethnographic research, surveys, usability studies, focus groups, etc.
  • Build research plans in alignment with the product roadmap and major business initiatives
  • Integrate findings from research activities to identify key insights and transform them into compelling stories
  • Provide feedback at every stage of the design process to ensure product direction remains consistent with the expressed needs and pain points of our target users
  • Provide recommendations and oversight to team members on how to approach a given research task to generate the most reliable insights (sometimes you’ll do the research yourself, other times you’ll empower other team members in Product and Design to run studies effectively)
  • Contribute to and maintain a central repository of user research data, including building appropriate taxonomies to ensure user insights are easily accessible across the business
  • Evangelize the value of user research and design to the broader business, helping build empathy across the organization, a focus on stellar customer experience, and illuminating the role everyone in the company plays in driving customer happiness
  • Partner with Data Science and Analytics experts in the company to add a sense of scale to user insights and identify new avenues for exploration

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least five years of experience in the financial sector with a demonstrated understanding of financial concepts, terminology, and practices
  • 5+ years of experience planning and delivering human-centered research insights in the context of digital product design
  • Experience leveraging remote research platforms and survey programs to execute and report on research
  • Demonstrable success in having your insights positively impact product outcomes
  • Bachelor's degree in Experimental Psychology, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience and comfort navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Experimental Psychology, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field
  • Experience in B2B financial services
  • A strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods and the relevant expertise to determine which are most appropriate for meeting a given business need
  • A passion for helping business owners of all types be more effective in their work
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
