Benefits Data Trust (BDT) seeks an inquisitive, compassionate Senior UX Researcher who wants to apply their drive to improve the user experience and positively affect otherโ€™s lives. As part of our Design team, the Senior UX Researcher will be responsible for uncovering user needs through primary and secondary research and collaboration with stakeholders. Insights provided by the Senior UX Researcher will help our teams build products that are more meaningful, intuitive, and impactful to our users. The ideal candidate believes in data-informed design, thrives on tackling complex problems, and advocates accessibility and inclusivity.

Based in our Center City Philadelphia office, the Senior UX Researcher reports to the Design Manager.

Due to COVID-19, BDT is operating under a remote-working protocol, following governmental requirements and CDC guidelines. While this job will begin as fully remote, when BDT determines it is safe to do so based on public health recommendations, we will move back into our Centre Square office. At that time, all Philadelphia-based staff are expected to transition back into the office.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of qualitative and quantitative research through all stages of the product life cycle, from design discovery, prototype testing, through post-implementation analysis
  • Plan and facilitate workshops, co-creation sessions, and other group analysis for both in-person and remote sessions
  • Identify new, generative areas of research that inform the organizational product strategy
  • Develop recruitment protocols for focus groups and usability testing sessions
  • Provide actionable insights to inform product design and improvements
  • Influence change and innovation through dynamic visual, oral, or written presentations of UX research findings
  • Develop and implement best practices for user research
  • Promote a culture of learning
  • Manage the performance and skills growth of the UX Researcher(s) on the team

Requirements:

  • Five+ years of work experience in conducting user research and usability testing and translating research outcomes into actionable insights
  • Experience managing and developing staff
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other disciplines
  • Desire to engage in knowledge sharing
  • Proficient in software like Adobe Suite, PowerPoint, Sketch, SurveyMonkey, Airtable, Google Analytics, and Hotjar
  • In-depth understanding of user interaction principles
  • Strong communication skills via visual, oral, and written presentations
  • Able to give and receive critical feedback
  • Excellent analytical and multitasking skills
  • Certificate or degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Anthropology, Behavioral Science or relevant field
  • Can provide a portfolio or work samples
