About the opportunity

As a UX researcher will be joining a new research capability currently being built in our digital development team. UX researchers are expected to deliver best-in-class, primary user research that informs and inspires the development of new and better service experiences

Your knowledge of UX Research will be vital to us, choosing the most suitable research methods and coming up with new ideas and ways of working to solve customer problems.

As a Senior UX Researcher we’ll also need you to guide and coach others in UX Research thinking and practices.

Our UX Research team are a friendly bunch, so there will be plenty of opportunities for coming together, sharing, and growing here (even remotely!)

Responsibilities    

  • Recognised as a go to person and trusted voice in the field of UX Research
  • A strong record of delivering insights that influence product, design and wider business decisions
  • Examples of managing end-to-end research activities - planning, execution, analysis and insight delivery
  • Experience with both exploratory research that uncovers opportunities for more desirable service experiences and evaluative research that guides development teams towards easy-to-use solutions
  • Storytelling skills to ensure the insights you uncover positively influence decision making (Our team goal is one-part research, two-parts impact)
  • Ability to analyse quantitative and qualitative data to deliver actionable insights
  • Strong relationship management and external agency management
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • A passion for learning, mentoring and keeping up to date with the latest trends and practices
  • The ability to represent the value and power of research in simple language to non-practitioners

Experience

  • You’re a self-sufficient researcher who carries out and coaches others on UX Research activity.
  • You’re overrun with examples of how you’ve applied your UX research skills and experience to create positive outcomes for the customer and business – using a range of tools and techniques to gleam and deliver impactful insights.
  • As a trusted voice for UX Research expertise you’re always on the lookout for opportunities to mentor more junior team members as well as helping non-researchers better understand the value customer research can bring.
  • Your value extends beyond day-to-day research, with examples of how you’ve identified and acted upon opportunities to help improve research practices.
