Job Title: Senior UX Researcher

JOB SUMMARY

As part of NZXT’s Marketing team, you will strive to gain a deeper understanding of consumers, identify key insights, and influence our product roadmap. Our team is looking for an experienced Researcher to design and execute both qualitative and quantitative research. You will work closely with Product and Design to turn research findings into actionable insights to improve our products and gaming experiences. Your ability to select the appropriate research methodology, design research, analyze findings, and make recommendations, are critical to the success of this role. You are passionate about users and dive deep into understanding how each experience can impact our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to identify research needs and objectives to help define product roadmaps, vision, and strategy at all stages of the product life cycle
  • Plan, design, and implement research studies end-to-end, including selecting the best methodology or vendor management
  • Lead product testing and user feedback at the various stages of the product development cycle
  • Conduct UX research (user interviews, usability studies, surveys, card sort, tree tests, etc.) focusing on identifying feature gaps, pain points, and opportunities to improve user experience or drive product innovation
  • Facilitate focus groups, IDIs, and concept testing
  • Analyze primary, secondary and syndicated data sources to derive insights
  • Communicate and present recommendations across the business

EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years experience in working a range of research methodology and analytical aptitude
  • Experience with quantitative research (survey objective, design, analysis, sampling, statistics)
  • Experience with different qualitative research methods (ethnographic interviews, IDIs, usability studies, observations, diary studies, focus groups, and product concept testing)
  • Ability to analyze large internal or syndicated datasets
  • Strong facilitation, relationship management, and project management skills

SKILLS

Qualifications

  • Expertise in selecting research methodologies for both qualitative and quantitative studies
  • Skilled at translating research findings across multiple studies into compelling recommendations
  • Ability to work with designers and product owners to understand their research requirements and facilitate consumption of findings that improve product and user experiences
  • A strong design-thinking mindset and familiarity with the product development process
  • Must be a self-starter, excellent communicator/storyteller, and project manager
  • Ability to drive success in an engineering and consumer technology-driven organization

Good to have but not required

  • Master’s degree in Research, Psychology, Social Sciences, Human Factors, Experimental/Cognitive Psychology, HCI, or related field/experience
  • Passion for the gaming industry and/or working knowledge gaming hardware/software ecosystems
  • Experience in consumer products preferred or understanding of consumer computing products
  • Ability to lead design thinking and ideation workshops
  • Familiarity with survey, usability, and multivariate A/B testing platforms
