Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Anthropology, Psychology, Computer Science, Behavioral Economics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience using qualitative methods and integrating user research into product designs and design practices.
  • Experience working with other Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Human Factors, Psychology, Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of UX and market research methods and techniques (e.g., lab-based usability studies, field research, usability inspections, creation of user profiles/personas, participatory design, survey research, experiment design, statistical analysis, etc.).
  • Knowledge of quantitative research and the principles of experiment design.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with and learn from UXRs across Google through regular meetups, mentor programs, and access to internal research tools.The Merchant Shopping team builds tools and capabilities to assist merchants and retail brands to manage their business profile on Google. Our capabilities help them make their products and services discoverable to consumers on Google.User experience is at the forefront of how we create intuitive, innovative, and beautiful products that people love. We strive to learn and understand our users’ needs, behaviors, and emotions to gather insights that inform product strategy and design. Our UX teams include designers, researchers, content strategists, and engineers who are passionate about quality, usability, and simplicity. Responsibilities

  • Design, manage, and execute comprehensive research programs for products and experiences that help merchants.
  • Collect and synthesize data related to user needs through foundational, generative, and iterative research methods.
  • Work with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and other UX Researchers to identify and prioritize research opportunities and uncover critical research questions.
  • Advocate research findings to audiences through engaging reports, presentations, and other creative methods.
