We are the CX Digital Experiences (DX) team and we're on a mission to address the evolving expectations of today's connected consumers. Using real-time connected data, machine learning, and automation – coupled with robust customer listening – the team enables Cisco and its partners to deliver a powerful, personalized experience — throughout the entire customer lifecycle.


We're looking for a curious and collaborative Senior Design Researcher who is passionate about solving customer and business problems. As a Sr. Design Researcher, this person will lead research initiatives that aim to understand the post-purchase experiences of existing customers & partners to reveal needs, motivations and pains. This role involves engaging with business & design leaders to provide insights and translating long-term strategy into operational objectives. This role will be involved in advancing research and a customer-centric approach within a growing organization and help craft the future of Cisco’s customer experience.


What you’ll do:

  • Design, plan and conduct strategic and tactical research initiatives -- using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies -- aligned with team and company priorities
  • Analyze and synthesize research data, translate into prioritized insights and opportunities that can be actioned on; identify areas for further exploration
  • Communicate comprehensive results and opportunities in an engaging, concise and compelling manner in an effort to drive action against research insights
  • Collaborate on CX improvement efforts, using human-centered design methods and co-creation
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, experiment with new & innovative approaches and methodologies to evolve our research practices
  • Evangelize the importance of research and design thinking principles across the company and throughout business processes
  • Partner with Research Operations to define best practices and establish processes and infrastructure to scale and adapt
  • Develop as a leader within the Cisco research community and the research industry
  • Mentor and coach junior researchers


What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of design research or user research
  • Experience in a B2B organization, SaaS experience a plus
  • A track record of crafting and facilitating a range of qualitative research methods, both remote & in person. Some familiarity with quantitative research methodologies preferred
  • Proficiency in research storytelling and communication
  • A relationship builder, proficient in collaborating strategically to drive and influence decisions and integrate insights into experiences
  • Comfortable facilitating workshops across a wide range of teams to achieve a goal
  • Proficient in research software such as Qualtrics, Verint, User Testing and Miro (or similar)
  • Can manage project prioritization
  • A learner’s approach, sees feedback as a chance to grow
  • Business mentality, with an eye on metrics and company strategy
