Job Description

Do you want to guide products that help national security organizations and Fortune 500 companies protect their companies, customers, and constituents from evil? If so, we would like to hear from you! The Mandiant UX team is looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Staff UX Researcher to help us create transformative products in the constantly evolving cybersecurity space. The position is focused on performing formative and summative research for the multi-vendor XDR platform Mandiant Advantage.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience with user research utilizing a wide variety of methods (e.g., usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, ethnography, etc.). They are hands-on, and detail-oriented, with the ability to independently drive new research projects. They will articulate research goals and outcomes to product managers, development teams, and executive stakeholders. They are passionate about understanding user behaviors and motivations.

What You Will Do:

  • Conduct formative and summative research through facilitated interviews, surveys, task-completion studies, and A/B testing.
  • Own all stages of UX research: planning, facilitation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Develop an expert understanding of user needs, pain points, personas, and customer journeys.
  • Communicate and collaborate with large cross-functional teams of designers, engineers, and product managers.
  • Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research.
  • Communicate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and in-person presentations.
  • Travel as much as 5-10%.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8+ years of professional experience in an applied research setting, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process.
  • Experience working within large and collaborative design, engineering, and product teams.
  • Able to conduct research in a fully remote setting.

Minimum Salary: $120,000. Final salary will be determined commensurately with cost of living, experience level, and/or any other legally permissible considerations. 

Incentive Compensation: Eligibility for annual bonus subject to individual and company performance; eligibility for award of Restricted Stock Units subject to eligibility requirements, approval from Mandiant’s Compensation Committee, and vesting terms
