User Experience Researcher

We’re also actively working to combat the spread of COVID-19 through new programs like Healthy at Work.

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a passionate and experienced UX Researcher for our Baseline platform - an end-to-end evidence generation platform, aimed to engage more patients in research, collect better, more comprehensive health data, and make it faster and easier to conduct studies, accelerate scientific discovery and improve health outcomes.

You will have the opportunity to radically shape healthcare by bridging the gap between research and care, through a broad ecosystem of Health Systems, Pharma partners, Advocacy groups. As a UX Researcher on the project, you will have a significant impact on the end-to-end platform experience, ensuring that our products are safe, effective, user-friendly, and delightful to use. You will do so by conducting primary user research, exploring the behaviors and motivations of our users through methods like field visits, literature reviews, surveys, and usability testing. You will work closely with the larger Verily UX team and cross-functional groups —including Product Managers, Hardware and Software engineers, Clinical specialists and more.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct independent research using a wide range of methods (such as usability lab studies, RITE studies, interviews, field studies, literature reviews, surveys, etc.) and appropriate analysis methods.
• Understand and incorporate complex technical, clinical, and business requirements into research.
• Drive change through effective communication of research findings to stakeholders, including Engineering, Product Management, Clinical, Business, Marketing, and more.
• Identify new opportunities for high-impact research and execute on them.
• Advocate user-centered thinking to product teams successfully.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum qualifications:

• BA/BS degree in Psychology, Human Factors, Anthropology, HCI or other related fields or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices.
• Demonstrated understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process.

Preferred qualifications:

• M.S./M.A. or Ph.D. in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with regulated medical product development (familiarity with IRB approvals, FDA human factors regulations and similar relevant processes).
• Ability to scope and structure complex research projects involving multiple cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
• Experience in survey design (ie: Qualtrics).
• Working knowledge of statistics and experimental design.
