The User Experience Researcher will be a critical team member responsible for planning and executing research that will lead Republic Finance in our journey to build a deep understand of our customers: who they are, their needs and desires, and how they evaluate the lending options available to them. You’ll work directly with designers and product teams to focus product development on customer benefits and problems to deliver value-adding solutions with measurable outcomes. You will be a voice and advocate for our customers in planning and product development, translating Republic Finance’s brand and enthusiasm for helping our customers into authentic digital interactions that delight customers and bring humanity to the forefront! Job responsibilities are as follows:


  • Establish and implement an overall research strategy
  • Work closely with the product and development teams to find opportunities for research
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews to understand and align with business goals
  • Assist in the selection of a UX research tool provider
  • Select and manage partnerships with UX research vendors and/or contractors
  • Define UX benchmarks and critical metrics to measure success over time
  • Develop a well-crafted research plan with clear objectives
  • Recruit targeted end-users for specific research studies
  • Develop and conduct in-depth, qualitative studies and customer interviews
  • Plan and lead moderated and un-moderated usability sessions
  • Design and implement quantitative surveys for ongoing feedback
  • Extract insights about user behaviors from web instrumentation tools
  • Work with the product and design team to craft personas and develop journey maps to communicate insights across the product and development teams
  • Present research findings to the larger team, partners and executives
  • Translate user insights into meaningful recommendations for the product team
  • Work with partners to translate action items into real solutions that improve the customer experience


Qualifications


  • 5+ years of experience planning and conducting user-centered design research for digital products
  • Solid grasp of the various UX research methods and how they are applied
  • Solid interviewing and listening skills. You’ll be speaking to customers one-on-one to understand their pain points and experiences
  • Experience in designing and conducting user tests to measure success of a proposed design or to validate potential customer pain points
  • Proficiency in research and testing tools such as Qualtrics, Recollective, UserTesting, HotJar, etc.
  • Exposure with integrating customer research into an agile development lifecycle
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in multi-functional product teams that are responsible for delivering first-class online experiences
  • Superb communication and presentation skills


Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science, Psychology, Design Thinking, Human-Computer Interaction or related field
  • Some design experience or knowledge of the UX Design process
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus, but not required
