GRIN is seeking a UX Researcher to conduct user research to understand how customers are using the product, understand competitive products, and help build a more intuitive product. As our first UX Researcher, you will be a thought leader in a high-impact role on the Product Design team where you'll be doing strategic product research, owning the end-to-end research process.

You’ll be instrumental in helping shape a world-class practice that enables our product development org to deliver experiences that solve clear problems. Improving our ease of use, time to value, user delight, and overall user experience are at the top of our list of priorities as a company, and we're looking for our first UX Researcher to play a key role in this next phase of our product journey.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • As our first researcher, you will build the foundations and best practices that define what UX research looks like at GRIN as we scale.
  • Build and execute end-to-end research projects that incorporate qualitative & quantitative data and modern research methods to gain deep user insights & broad market context to impact product and company-level strategy.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Engineering, and leadership to identify which research topics are worthy of investigation based on estimated impact.
  • Deeply understand GRIN’s business, market, users & experiences through consumption of relevant external and internal literature, market and competitive trends, and new, primary research.
  • Embody our team values, research principles, and standards for the craft.
  • Facilitate and conduct research across all stages of the product development lifecycle, from early discovery, usage, and needs, through design validation.
  • Gather and equip the product, design, and engineering teams with user/persona, business, design, and technology insights that will help them guide their product development.
  • Handle and synthesize research findings into actionable recommendations and deliver them in the form of compelling, high-quality deliverables for team and executive-level audiences.
  • Identify research opportunities and become a champion for users to deliver insights that drive product and design decisions.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years of relevant product research experience. (Experience with SaaS products is a plus.)
  • Thrives on finding creative ways to uncover user feedback and leverage to improve our current processes.
  • Have a portfolio of work that showcases their problem-solving process for user research.
  • Research evangelist with demonstrated experience sharing user insights with the broader organization.
  • Incredible ability to consolidate business, technology and user needs to make recommendations on product roadmap features.
  • Very experienced with qualitative and quantitative user research methods.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to condense complex information into simple language for the appropriate audience.
