User Experience Researcher

The User Experience Researcher is responsible for performing user and customer research which uncovers real business problems and influences strategy.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead the design and execution of most complex qualitative and quantitative research studies of varying scale, scope, timeframe, and methodology
  • Analyze, synthesize and model data from user research into actionable insights which drive vision and strategy
  • Create compelling and influential findings reports for research studies and use storytelling techniques to present insights and recommendations to stakeholders including executives
  • Lead recruitment of research participants based on audience profiles/personas, including identification of new recruitment sources and pipelines
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and product management to identify areas for new opportunities, improvement and/or feature development
  • Introduce, implement and mentor others in new research approaches and methodologies
  • Mentor, coach, train, and provide feedback to other team members; provides feedback to leadership on technical abilities of team
  • Equip the organization with an in-depth understanding of customers and users
  • Operate as an innovative thought leader; contribute significantly to the overall growth and quality of the department through knowledge sharing and coaching on current best practices and market trends
  • Comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices, including but not limited to, Hyland’s Information Systems Security Policy

What Will Make You Successful

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience with a variety of qualitative and quantitative research projects and methodologies that drive the design and development process
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with multiple disciplines and stakeholders in designing and executing research studies
  • Proven experience creating meaningful and actionable insights from research findings
  • In-depth knowledge of effective techniques for delivering research findings in meaningful, consumable, and actionable ways for a variety of stakeholders across an organization
  • Proficiency with insight tools (usability testing, survey, A/B MVT, analytics)
  • Experience with and extensive knowledge of accessibility requirements and guidelines, and their and implications to technology design
  • Experience incorporating secondary research methods into the design of large-scale research studies (e.g. market research firms, customer research, market research)
  • In-depth understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of both quantitative and qualitative research methods, including when and how to apply them during the conception, design and development processes
  • Extensive research strategy and thought leadership experience
  • Experience shaping a research practice within an organization, including establishment of processes, influencing organizational structure, and defining the strategic role research plays for the business
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with executive presence
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, applied successfully within team as well as with all levels of employees in other areas
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent leadership, sound judgement, and business accumen skills
  • Ability to design effective, appropriate research approaches to address complex issues within constraints of time and scope
  • Ability to work confidently on technically complex and/or ambiguous problems
  • Ability to independently and proactively define key research questions, identify methods and logistics, execute, and synthesize data to generate actionable insights
  • Ability to create compelling presentations and communicate insights through storytelling methods
  • Ability to lead and mentor team members in project work and skills growth
  • Ability to introduce new industry-leading research approaches and methods that drive positive outcomes
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with senior leadership across the organization to understand and influence product vision and strategy
  • Up to 10% travel time required

Based on Colorado law, the following details are for Colorado individuals only: Colorado base salary range: $120,000 - $198,000 and eligible for bonus and benefits.
