The Role

As a User Researcher at Unmind, you’ll be working closely with our clients, users, and internal teams to help us better understand the needs and wants of our audience. You'll be responsible for planning, running, and analysing qualitative studies including field observations and interviews, remote & in-person usability studies for all areas of our product.


  • Showcase an outstanding understanding of who our target audience is
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Engineers to hypothesise and prioritise existing problems and user needs
  • Create detailed plans to conduct research using relevant methods (depending on the problem)
  • Introduce new research methodologies for generating user insights when appropriate
  • Facilitate and lead usability tests, focus groups, workshops, etc.
  • Distil research to actionable insights that help fuel ideation
  • Present findings to the rest of the team in interesting, creative ways
  • Document and share strategic thinking such as research principles, best practices, processes to ensure effective inter-departmental collaboration
  • Champion for inclusivity and accessibility in everything we ship


  • Help the company meet business goals by having a thorough understanding of who our audience is and how we can provide them with the best experience possible
  • Be an integral part of decision making for quarterly initiatives and business priorities
  • Validate or disprove assumptions that define the company's product strategy
  • Advocate for effective solutions and best practices to improve collaboration
  • Share your knowledge with the wider team to instil a research-focused culture within the organisation

Skills and Experience

As with any B2B organisation, the success of Unmind depends on every member of staff being professional, amicable, and building strong relationships – both internally and with external stakeholders. Our ideal candidate traits are as follows:

  • 2-3 years' experience working in a user research related role
  • Experience facilitating and running both qualitative and quantitative studies
  • Ability to communicate articulately your thoughts and motivations
  • Self-motivated and able to efficiently run with a project without close supervision
  • Passionate about helping create products that resonate emotionally with users
  • Analytical and highly organised
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable presenting your work to senior stakeholders
  • Have a deep appreciation for the product development process
