User Researcher

We are looking for a talented and passionate User Researcher to help us build our SaaS-based anti-money laundering solutions to help organizations fight financial crime. We are building solutions that help reveal the truth for a safer world and stop money ending up in the hands of terrorists. You will join our UX Team as a User Researcher and focus on completing user research for the design process used for our product development.

Since launching in 2014, we have been on a mission to neutralize the risk of money laundering, terrorist financing, corruption, and other financial crime on a global scale. In that time, we have raised over $88m in funding, have four global hubs located in New York, London, Singapore and Cluj-Napoca and are backed by Ontario Teachers', Index Ventures and Balderton Capital.

We aim to grow to over 350 employees in the next 12 months, as we continue to fight the good fight against financial crime and help make compliance less painful for our client base of over 500 enterprises across 75 different countries. The Role

You will become an embedded member into our UX team. You will work with members of our product teams to identify and contact customers, plan and conduct user research, share research findings and collaborate with the designers and developers to create design solutions. Does this sound like you?

  • You will develop research plans which address product teams' specific design questions and reflect the strategic priorities of the business
  • You will work with UX designers to prepare suitable prototypes and other stimulus as required
  • You will organise and perform research with users through a variety of methods, including (but not limited to) remote and face-to-face interviews/usability testing, onsite observations, online surveys
  • You enjoy working as part of a team alongside product owners and developers to identify customer needs and create solutions that meet them
  • You will analyse research outputs and share user insights with product teams and the wider business
  • Contributing to the user research community of practice, improving the wider understanding of our customers at ComplyAdvantage and the growth of a user-centric design culture
  • You will maintain and grow the panel of customers we engage with regularly as part of our research

What does success look like In your first 3 months?

  • Understand who ComplyAdvantage customers are and what they use our products for
  • Be fully integrated with the product team and understand the product, the roadmap and it's users
  • You have begun actively contributing to product design by planning and performing user research


We value those who take initiative, ownership and pride in their work and contribute to an informal working environment. You will be able to deliver on the points covered above, taking into account the following:

  • Degree - or relevant background - in one of the following areas: human-computer interaction, psychology, anthropology, design, or computer science
  • Experience of conducting user studies, including qualitative interviews and usability testing, and integrating research results into product design and strategy
  • Understanding of general design principles and best practice guidelines for web-based user interface design
  • Working knowledge of quantitative research including online surveys, remote unmoderated testing, analytics , etc

Desirable Experience

  • Experience - or at least awareness - of the challenges of performing research in B2B organisations. You get how designing for people at work differs from consumer-based web and app design.
  • Experience working as part of an Agile product team and using research findings to influence the product roadmap
