Are you interested in applying a novel approach to AI computer vision, and in working in a small but growing startup-like team, incubating this technology into a market-ready scalable product with potential alternative business models? IoT Experiences is a team of User Experience (UX) architects, designers, researchers, and writers within Intel's Internet of Things (IoT) Group. One of our team's key priorities is to ensure that Intel's Internet of Things platforms deliver a fantastic developer experience (DX) for vertical AI and computer vision use cases. Health, Education, and Consumer Industries (HEC) is a business unit within Intel's IoT Group focusing on vertical markets. We are looking for a professional UX/DX Researcher to join a small team focused on an exciting new technology for computer vision software innovation aimed at IOT developers.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Discover developer sub-segments and nuances of customer needs conducting deep-dive user/developer needs investigations going into depth for a computer vision workflow.
  • Design, execute, and analyze qualitative and quantitative user studies assessing aspects of developer experience and providing tangible concepts and recommendations.
  • Execute user/developer needs analysis techniques, task flow analysis, field studies, structured interviews, user experience study design and moderation, data analysis and reporting, survey design, and technical product concepting/definition.
  • Lead and manage vendor engagements that support various UX/DX deliverables, including research studies, interaction and visual design, and technical writing.
  • Work with product managers and agile software engineering teams to implement changes that will positively impact developer experience both near and in longer term strategies.
  • Work in close collaboration with the US -based team and Eastern Europe depending upon the project.
  • Lead participation and collaborative synthesis of research data; translating into experience design architecture and implications/requirements; creation of low-fidelity prototypes.
  • Create and execute a research agenda that fuels practical understanding of computer vision training at the edge; their expectations and pain-points, existing workflows, tools, and practices.
  • Research and define developer personas, workflows, and usage scenarios for computer vision software product innovation.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills in addition to the qualifications listed below.

  • A self-starter willing to take calculated risks define the path forward to understand user needs.
  • Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills going deep on technical problems paired with creativity for developer product innovation.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with product development teams.
  • Excellent written/verbal English communication and presentation skills.
  • Willing to be part of a dynamic work environment with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Interest in edge-computing applications of artificial intelligence and computer vision.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Human Computer Interaction (HCI) or related field with 6+ years of experience.
  • Experience practicing DX/UX research and human factors engineering for software product development.
  • Experience conducting research on complex technical/SW engineering workflows and the software tools/environments that developers use in their workflow.
  • Experience leading innovation research for product conception, definition, and iterative research across all phases of the lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or above in Human Factors, Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Human Computer Interaction (HCI) or related field with 6+ years of experience.
  • Experience with computer vision and edge computing/IOT use cases.
  • Experience going deep to document and shape technical developer workflows.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
