About the team

We are a multidisciplinary team bringing together UX design, visual design, content strategy, and user research to deliver excellent user experiences for consumers, real estate agents, and internal operations team members. Our team cares deeply about our users, and are continually striving to better our craft. Our team designs end-to-end experiences across multiple platforms including mobile web, desktop and mobile apps.

Research is a critical input into the product development process at Zillow Group — one that helps our teams understand user needs, define problems, generate ideas and evaluate potential solutions. This specific internship will be focused on the exciting world of Zillow Offers, where Zillow buys and sells homes directly. You will work closely with product managers, designers, business strategists, and marketers within Zillow Offers.

About the role

We’re looking for a passionate student to join our team at Zillow! As an intern, you will lead a project from beginning to end and will gain exposure to design, product management, and engineers. Zillow has an incredible internship program during the summer where you will meet students from all over, attend virtual fun events, and be able to work remotely from wherever you are!

The ideal candidate will be customer focused, detail oriented, and a self-starter with previous tech and/or relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support senior UX researchers in planning research, writing screeners and interview protocols, and executing in-person and remote UX studies
  • Analyze data from qualitative studies including usability tests, interviews, participatory design, and heuristic evaluations
  • Help to communicate and present research insights to business partners
  • Collaborate with other UX and analytics teams as necessary
  • Lead a project from start to finish, including discovery and definition of the problem

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.

Who you are

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Master’s degree in Interaction Design/UX Design, HCI, Anthropology, Sociology, Applied Psychology, or a related field
  • Ability to brainstorm and collaborate with other researchers, designers, and product development teams
  • Possess a strong, user centered design process and advocates for our consumers
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Strong presentation & communication skills
  • Must be able to effectively self-manage projects
