In this role, you will be responsible for driving and implementing research projects for health care providers and patients. Your research will inform rapid innovation in the product teams while also taking a step back to ask big questions that drive strategies.

As an ideal candidate you are able scope, plan, execute research studies and deliver high-quality outputs under minimal direction. You must be self-driven, passionate, and interested in pushing the boundaries of agile research. You will have a deep understanding of human-centered research methodologies and best practices, know how to apply them in nimble and pragmatic ways.

Responsibilities

  • Interact daily with researchers, product managers, designers, engineers to understand project needs and translate them into research initiatives
  • Partner with product and marketing teams to identify and prioritize research questions based on analysis of current knowledge, project goals and risks.
  • Identify the best method or mix of methods based on research questions, timeline and resourcing.
  • Perform quick but thorough data analysis in order to create insightful and actionable findings.
  • Drive impact, as measured by changes to the product design and development roadmap.

As An Ideal Candidate, You Will Have

  • End-to-end experience with all aspects of research (study design, moderation, analysis, reporting).
  • Exceptional behavioral data-collection and analysis skills, (e.g., designing, conducting, and analyzing all kinds of user data.)
  • Hands-on experience with: lab-based user testing, remote testing, iterative prototype testing, concept testing, ethnographic research, longitudinal research (e.g. diary studies), benchmarking, international research, survey design and usage of multiple methods within a study.
  • The ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to meet ambitious deadlines and deliver high-quality work on schedule, including quickly turning around study plans and reports.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.

Experience

  • 3+ years proven success leading User Research projects for Digital Products with demonstrated impact.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g.: study plans, reports).
  • A BS or equivalent degree in psychology, cognitive science, Human Factors, Interaction design, UX design, HCI, HCD or similar.
  • Direct experience with research across devices (desktop, mobile, tablet)
  • Experience conducting research on mobile platforms.

Other Requirements

  • Must have an online research portfolio or PDF showcasing process, examples, case studies, and what you have worked on specifically.
  • Position located in South San Francisco, CA (currently remote work)
  • Up to 20% travel as directed by user research
