The Opportunity

The Product Design team's mission is to transform healthcare for all by discovering and delivering exceptional digital experiences that surpass healthcare consumers' expectations, empowering members to live longer, higher-quality lives. We strive to elevate our User Experience so it's easier, more intuitive, inclusive, and delightful, and to deepen understanding of our members’ and providers’ wants, needs, feelings, and behaviors to deliver impactful healthcare experiences. As UX Researcher, you will play a crucial and influential role in the discovery, exploration, and definition of the most critical problems to solve – in our mission to transform healthcare for all.

What You'll Work On

You'll partner closely with Product and Design leaders and teams across the One Medical member journey – on both patient and provider sides – to influence longer-term transformative experience visioning, as well as near-term research and experimentation. You will work with leadership to establish and manage a research roadmap of learning opportunities, driving the creation of actionable and influential insights. You'll help bring definition to some of our most important problems to solve through user research, distilling data to the most critical insights that foster empathy and a shared understanding of user needs, as well as broader market insights and trends.

You’ll Need

  • 3+ years experience creating high-impact insights projects where your results and advocacy raised the bar on user empathy, product innovation, and high-quality outcomes for both the user and business.
  • Experience identifying and executing on high-value research opportunities via a range of qualitative UX research methods, experimental design, market research techniques.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to influence, educate, and advocate with diverse audiences via analysis, storytelling, journey maps, storyboards, workshops, and more – with a knack for effectively matching communication to the audience.
  • A talent for finding clarity and simplicity in solving complex & ambiguous problems, and product objectives.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional partners (PMs and designers) to uplevel the quality of user research across the organization.

Not required, but it would be great if you also had:

  • Experience with identifying, setting up, and managing meaningful user experience metrics.
  • Experience working in complex ecosystems and/or internal tooling with complicated user needs.
  • Experience setting up and supporting research operations enabling lightweight research across the team.
  • Experience working with tri-track Agile – balancing deep research with the need to inform and influence ongoing agile product development.
  • Experience performing UX research in a healthcare environment
  • MA/MS or Ph.D. degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive / Experimental Psychology, Anthropology, Market Research or related field, or BA/BS degree.
