User Experience Researcher (UX Researcher)
One of the first steps in designing a new product is to start thinking about the users. Who are they? Where are they from? What do they want? Why do they want it? How can our product help them get what they want? As a UX Researcher, your job is to help us answer these questions by designing a research strategy to connect with potential users in a data-driven way accelerating the product strategy and development process. In this role, you will help provide actionable and meaningful data-driven insights that represent the voice of multiple target users. You will collaborate across strategy, development, design, and marketing teams to evaluate current and upcoming user research needs that help to improve product definition and drive business goals. Key Roles Responsibilities Research Planning Strategy Work closely with stakeholders to understand research objectives and develop well-crafted research plans with clear research objectives. Define research questions and selecting appropriate methods of data collection. Develop budgets and timelines for research projects. Data Collection Analysis Systematically study target users to collect and analyze data to shape the product development process. Develop, execute, and articulate findings from quantitative and qualitative research. Transform research findings into easily understandable insights and presentation materials for stakeholders. What Yoursquoll Do Plan, design, and execute user and product usability research studies and experiments aligned with business objectives. Responsibilities include research method selection, tool selection, user recruitment, test creation, analysis, and reporting. Create deep empathy and understanding of the user and represent the user's voice in product discussions with stakeholders and product, design, development teams. Generate actionable user insights for product features as well as concepts and communicate to diverse audiences through effective written documents and presentations. Develop new research capabilities and experimentation using quantitative and mixed methods. Essential Skills Tools Communication Collaboration ndash Working alongside developers, designers, product managers, and stakeholders to bring the best possible product to market. Presenting research findings to stakeholders. Empathy Curiosity ndash Understanding a userrsquos expectations, frustrations, goals, and reasoning process to help develop the best solutions to real user needs with a sense of curiosity can prompt to ask insightful questions and discover meaningful insights. Design Thinking ndash Each stage of the design thinking process (empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test) offers opportunities to learn more about target users. Problem Solving Data Analysis ndash Thinking critically about what questions stakeholders are trying to answer with UX research can help select the appropriate research methodology (e.g., user surveying, journey mapping, persona building, usability testing, etc.) and research type (e.g., quantitative, qualitative, behavioral, attitudinal, etc.). Go deep into the data to derive insights from the obvious to the not so obvious.
2+ years experience leading a research team for digital products.
5+ years rsquo experience executing user research to improve digital products.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Psychology, Social Science, or other data or research-centric field preferred Ability to champion user research within an organization and grow a successful research program.
Track record of successful user research studies where findings were translated into user value and positive business impact.
Experience with quantitative research methods, statistical analysis, experiment design, insight generation, and data visualization.
Understanding of business goals and how to translate them into research objectives and research plans. Experience with wide variety of research methods (e.g., surveys, interviews, usability testing, generative research, etc.).
Strong research skills and ability to define effective research processes (e.g., research method selection, participant recruitment, interview guides, synthesis techniques, etc.). Excel at storytelling and timely communication to product, designers, developers, and other stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail, organization, planning, complex problem solving, and logical thinking skills. Highly polished written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
