As we continue to grow our digital portfolio, we are looking for a User Experience Researcher who will be responsible for working as a member of UL’s product teams to understand business goals and user requirements to deliver UI design assets for UL’s software products websites.

What You’ll Learn & Achieve

The UX Researcher is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, analyzing, and reporting on user-centered research that provides actionable and data-driven insights which influence the design and development of UL’s software applications, websites, and processes. The UX Researcher has advanced knowledge of additional user centered design activities including workshop facilitation, requirements gathering, wireframing, visual design, and/or information architecture.

The User Experience Researcher also has advanced knowledge of additional user-centred design activities including workshop facilitation, requirements gathering, wireframing, research, and/or information architecture. This role will work directly with our engineering team to ensure the quality of designs is delivered through working code.

  • Lead UX research projects
  • Develop research plans with clear research objectives
  • Write usability research screeners and discussion guides
  • Recruit targeted end-users for specific research studies
  • Moderate one-on-one usability sessions
  • Help develop and implement quantitative surveys
  • Conduct stakeholder and client interviews
  • Extract insights about user behaviors from analytics tools
  • Translate user insights into actionable recommendations for the product team
  • Craft appropriate deliverables (personas, journey maps ) to communicate insights across the design and development teams
  • Present design research findings to the larger team in a clear and organized fashion.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and projects reviews
  • Work closely with product stakeholders to ensure a full understanding of the product teams’ needs and priorities
  • Work within project timelines, deliver research insights base on product roadmap
  • Evangelize user experience and user-centered design throughout the company
