By combining our passion for people with the power of today’s technologies, we support people and organizations in realizing their true potential. We call this Human Forward.

Are you our new colleague? We’re looking for a

UX Researcher at Randstad Global

Our CX Center of Excellence (CoE) provides CX services to Randstad by enabling the organization and teams to become human-centric and drive change agendas as representatives of users. We facilitate that deep understanding to guide us to the sweet spot where user needs are met and to achieve business goals.

Our team of UX Researchers provide a variety of services using qualitative and quantitative methods to achieve a deep understanding enabling product design and service design teams in their process and deliveries. Our methods include 1:1 interviews, surveys, usability tests, field studies, data studies and more. The research team uses user experience data to discover insights which the team governs and elevates to strategic guidance for our company’s products and services.

Randstad is looking for a UX Researcher who can plan and execute end-to-end explorative research for specific products or product areas and is able to raise the level of customer/user understanding of design- and product teams through strong communicative skills in delivering outcomes and insights of studies. Next to explorative studies the UX Research assists moderated and unmoderated tests on new design concepts to validate impact on the consumer’s experience. As Randstad is rapidly growing its products and services from a global to local perspective research is required all around the globe. A great candidate focuses on business impact and has a sense for applying rigor vs. pragmatic in their approach.

ux researcher responsibilities

  • Generative / Exploration research: Plan, shape and conduct independent research studies (qualitative, quantitative and continuous measurement) on multiple aspects of various users types’ behaviour in relation to our products and experiences. Convey research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and verbal presentations.
  • Concept & Usability testing: User test low fidelity design concepts (prototypes) using remote UX moderated research to understand what works and what doesn’t work well for users and why. And facilitate usability tests on finished design / product using remote unmoderated research. Make recommendations on how the solution concept may be improved to meet the users needs and expectations.
  • Contribute to general user knowledge: Enrich and augment our insights library, personas and ecosystem of (journey) maps to increase our shared understanding of our customer audiences.
  • Collaborate: Be inquisitive, open minded by heart and choose listening over talking. Yet be a fearless & trusted advisor with a high level of confidence. Be a partner of all involved stakeholders facilitating a deep understanding of the users / customers you study and connecting the multi-perspective stakeholder landscape around the conclusions and recommendations aimed at the sweet spot between user needs and business goals. Team up with Design and Product product professionals to facilitate understanding the UX Design process.
  • Act as an advocate for all users of the business’s product through visual and verbal presentation of product solution concepts necessary for the enhancement of users’ experience.

your background

3+ years of experience in a ux researcher role or having gathered relevant ux research experience, where you have built up:

  • Capabilities to lead remote UX moderated and unmoderated research.
  • Comfortability with proposing recommendations based on research findings.
  • Familiarity and comfort with presenting to project and stakeholder audiences.
  • Experience with workshop facilitation and a variety of user-centered methods
  • Some experience with journey mapping is a plus.
  • Working within large / enterprise companies, with remote and international collaboration and research
  • Working in fast paced environments: preferably experience researching as part or (agile) design sprints
  • Availability: full time (40 h/wk)
  • Geography: the Netherlands

your competencies

As a global ux researcher, you are a team player whilst being able to autonomously identify, shape, plan and execute studies. You like to be hands-on, get your feet in the mud and make progress. You want to see fast and good results whilst having a passion for providing insights and deep understanding to the randstad business. You:

  • Relish the challenge of a fast-paced (agile) creative environment - understand what an agile way of working is and understand what is required of that type of work (speed, progress over perfection)
  • Feel comfortable with the uncomfortable - we will put them straight to work and want to see someone who embraces the challenge versus someone who needs a lot of guidance before jumping in
  • Know this is a hands-on role - you will execute your own research from guides to presenting findings
  • Think quickly on their feet - in an agile team you will need to quickly respond to ideas and questions.  Someone who would describe themselves as thoughtful and would like time with analysis will probably have a lot of frustration in the role
  • Have an entrepreneurial Spirit - loves to explore new opportunities
  • Possess a demonstrated understanding of different qualitative and quantitative research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase
  • Have a mastery in validation and testing throughout various stages of solution design (from validating paper concepts to testing functioning prototypes and usability testing of working solutions)
  • Ability to analyze and translate research results in a concise and meaningful way - analyzing observations and synthesizing into comprehensive reports which unearth the essential deeper meaning (insights) in at summary and detail level
  • Possess great visual storytelling and communication skills - both in verbal and in written form to convey complex and detailed findings in the simplest and clearest of ways.
  • Are great at time management, estimation & planning - handle multiple projects at any one instance, both independently and in multidisciplinary teams
  • Have a fluent proficiency in English and German or Spanish - speaking, reading and writing + preferably deep understanding of (German/Spanish) culture
  • We work hybrid, it is required to work together on location 1-2 days a week. Therefore we look for a candidate located in The Netherlands
