Affirma Consulting is looking for UX Researcher to join our team. As a researcher, you strive to understand customers' goals, pain points, and expectations while considering business goals and requirements. In this role you will collaborate with project managers, UX designers, visual designers, engineers, and marketers. A successful candidate will influence the user research process and know when to conduct varying methods to uncover relevant insights. You will engage with a variety of clients, from those launching their first website to technological innovators like Microsoft, Google, and Amazon.

What You'll Do

  • Bring user-centered design (UCD) research methods to digital solutions from concept to product testing
  • Work with clients to understand and distill complex problems into elegant, informed solutions
  • Identify and execute the best methods for user research and testing within client constraints
  • Understand and conduct primary, secondary, exploratory, and evaluative research methods
  • Distill, organize, and communicate your findings to cross-functional team members and clients
  • Integrate with other senior cross-functional teammates (UX and Visual Design, Development, Engagement Managers, and Project Managers) to produce best-in-industry solutions for projects
  • Present and explain findings directly to the client to increase empathy
  • Produce research insights that will impact the design of the product
  • A clear passion and enthusiasm for learning and pursuing your expertise

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in user research
  • Experience with remote testing tools
  • Bachelor's or MS in a human behavior-related field (or equivalent and demonstrable work experience)
  • A portfolio or case study(ies) to show an example of previous research deliverables
  • Experience reviewing existing systems and processes to identify UX issues and develop recommendations
  • Familiarity with analyzing findings, documenting, and articulating results for clients

  • Work independently and in groups as needed with a variety of skill sets and experience levels
  • Stay up to date on emerging technologies, design trends, tools, and methods

  • Experiment with emerging technologies, trends, tools, and methods
  • A passion for learning and pursuing your craft and guiding others
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience working in freelance or consulting
  • Proficiency with accessibility
  • Experience working in the agile methodology
