FreeAgent is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and well-organised individual to join our UXr team.

Day-to-day here's what you can expect:

You'll be involved throughout the design process, from scoping the problem, to honing our solution. You'll be responsible for:

  • Designing research studies that help product teams gain a deep understanding of customer needs and behaviour
  • Keeping cross-functional teams laser focused on customer needs
  • Leading workshops to help development teams make sense of customer feedback
  • Uncovering opportunities to help customers get a better handle on their business finances
  • Generating insights that inspire teams to design innovative products

You'll be passionate about helping your colleagues see the world through the eyes of our customers. You'll be effective in gaining insights that helps improve FreeAgent in ways that truly make a difference to the lives of the people that use it.

Ideally you'll have

  • Previous experience working on a digital product, as a freelancer, or at an agency.
  • Experience of conducting user research for complex products
  • Experience of working within a team to help improve the experience of a product
  • A deep understanding of user research methods & techniques, from card sorting to remote usability testing
  • The ability to clearly and confidently communicate research findings and insights
  • Top notch listening skills and have a natural curiosity about why people do the things they do

Normally, we're based in our amazing office in central Edinburgh and our work environment is light and bright, with inspiring spaces and quiet places. This role will be based in the office most of the week, once we're able to return. Find out more about life at HQ here!

Currently the whole team is working remotely. We're well equipped to support this, as 20% of the team normally works from home on a permanent basis. We're continuing our hiring and onboarding activity during this time and we're finding alternative ways to stay connected and enjoy activities together, from our virtual art club to exercise challenges and cake decorating competitions.
