About the opportunity

As a UX researcher will be joining a new research capability currently being built in our digital development team. UX researchers are expected to deliver best-in-class, primary user research that informs and inspires the development of new and better service experiences .Our UX researchers will act as subject matter experts to inform both development teams and other areas of the business on the benefits and potential impact of human-centered research. On projects, UX researchers will ensure high quality research outputs, mentor other team members on basic data gathering and analysis techniques and collaborate across disciplines to ensure program success Other responsibilities will see you;

  • Work with the Head of Research to build an internal research capability within our digital team that delivers best-in-class exploratory, inspirational and evaluative user research.
  • Support the development of methods and practices to retain cross-program learnings, build intellectual capital and share foundational insights across the corporation to increase and better retain institutional knowledge.
  • Represent the capability and impart the power of user research to internal audiences who may be less familiar with this area of expertise.
  • Collaborate deeply with our Product and Design teams.
  • Build lasting partnerships with other areas of the organization
  • Work with the Head of Research to help build nimble external research partner relationships to add flexibility in skills and additional coverage to the team.

Key skills and experience

  • Demonstrable experience with either qualitative or quantitative human-centered research methods
  • Some demonstrable experience with both exploratory research that uncovers opportunities for more desirable service experiences and evaluative research that guides development teams towards easy-to-use solutions
  • Demonstrate an ability to represent the value and power of research in simple language to non-practitioners
  • Experience and comfort with shaping, planning, leading and delivering a variety of research initiatives.
  • Experience in consulting, digital products and service design, financial services, government digital programs, or large multi-nationals with strong VOC foundations
