On the Beach sends over 1.5 million people on their perfect beach holiday every year, and while the Covid-19 pandemic has caused disruption for the travel industry, we have not paused our ambition to become Europe’s leading online retailer of beach holidays. We’re completely focused on making it easy for people to find, book and enjoy their perfect beach holiday. To reach our goals, we work as a team to a clearly defined set of values; these are what make On the Beach a great place to work for our colleagues and help us deliver the best experience possible for our customers. We’re bold. We’re open. We’re dynamic.
Data and customer insights drive all of our decisions at On the Beach and UX Researchers are an integral part of this process, responsible for gathering information in a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods (including interviews/ usability testing, contextual inquiries, diary studies, personas, card sorting etc), as well as competitors review or other desk research techniques.
While their immediate audience for synthesising this insight is the UX Design team, our UX Researchers are trusted partners to the cross-functional delivery teams within Tech and Product as well as other stakeholders across the business.
The Research function within On the Beach plays a pivotal role to the data maturity across the organisation as we progress to understand our customers better and provide them with increasingly personalised experiences.
