OneMain is the largest non-bank lender in the United States and a leading consumer finance company.

One of our critical and highly visible initiatives is building and scaling industry-leading lending digital applications and experiences for our customers. We’re seeking a UX Researcher to inform product and design decisions and align OneMain’s digital user experience to our customers’ needs. In this role, you’ll partner with designers, product managers, engineers and other researchers to plan and execute research that shapes current and future product experiences. The UX Researcher will have a key role in enabling a growing design practice and shaping highly-visible and widely-used platforms.

We are seeking a motivated, creative and analytical UX researcher with proven experience to support multidisciplinary teams – someone who is poised to make an impact through compelling UX research and direct customer connections.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct primary and secondary research including formalized user feedback sessions and live observation to guide and inform product design and UX decisions
  • Support a customer-centric product orientation by honing understanding of our customers and prospects, their needs and behaviors
  • Plan and conduct research with a variety of methods to inform product development process and team
  • Support research to be conducted by other UX designers with an expert, consultative approach
  • Synthesize and quantify findings into actionable insights and useful outputs in an Agile environment
  • Evaluate and monitor experiences against key success indicators
  • Establish and articulate best practices for user research and expand our team capabilities
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other stakeholders to align research activities to business and user impact

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least three years’ experience conducting user research for digital products
  • A flexible and creative approach to research including experience with observation and other primary research methodology
  • Knowledge of best practices in human-centered design and research
  • Experience presenting findings, influencing and collaborative with a wide variety of product stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • Experience applying UX research to financial, e-commerce, or b2c products
