We are looking for a Qual UX Researcher to join the Shopping team. This team is focused on helping shoppers discover inspiring brands and products that will help them create a life they love, and helping merchants find new customers, market their products, and achieve their business goals. You’ll get to create brand new features and tools to solve problems that help merchants jump-start, find success, and scale their business on Pinterest—the next generation of the digital mall. This position will be the first Researcher based in our growing Toronto office, embedded with a cross-functional product and design team -- come help us grow our team!

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct research that varies in approach, scale, scope, timeframe and methodologies (may include ethnographic, interview, participatory workshops and usability) with the goal of to improving the merchant shopper experience on Pinterest
  • Proactively communicate and share your research findings with team members, executives, and other audiences in compelling, actionable, and engaging ways
  • Lead research projects from beginning to end (including recruiting, moderation and report writing both independently and with vendor partners)
  • Collaborate with different disciplines and create detailed designs to set vision, inform strategy, and guide implementation
  • Be the advocate for shoppers while balancing the needs of cross-functional partners’ perspectives and the company’s results

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience with user research or qualitative research
  • Effective communication skills, strong work ethic, and effective time management (this team spans multiple time zones)
  • Curiosity, self-awareness, humility, and a drive for growth, learning, and sharing knowledge
  • Passion for improving the product, team culture, and Pinterest overall
  • Experience in retail, ecommerce or fintech experience a plus
