Requires working technical knowledge and expanded conceptual knowledge within Client Experience / User Experience Research. Works under a moderate level of guidance and direction. Performs a range of technical assignments and solves moderately complex problems under guidance of established policies and procedures. Participates in initial discovery and understanding of the user(s), the needs of the business, as well as interaction with processes and systems to ensure an effective design that meets those needs and results in an effective user experience. Assists in identifying customer user profiles and UI needs through customer visits and lab testing and leads structured task analyses; conducts surveys of customer satisfaction with user interfaces. Participates in presenting results of usability analyses to project teams and upper management with findings and recommendations; maintains UI standards and style guides. The role interacts with CX/UX, marketing and product management teams to identify the research topics. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Assists in the development, maintenance, and support of various systems and tools. Supports the achievement of goals through own personal efforts. Facilitates project research activity, following Lean methodology on a diverse, moderately complex IT project, under moderate level of guidance and direction.

We are seeking a talented UX Designer and Researcher to join our Product Management Team to collaborate on the design of meaningful user experiences that not only look great, but are intuitive, functional, practical, reinforce our brand, and delight our users!

You will be a key contributor to the research, planning and design of the user experiences for our web-based products. You must have strong experience with usability standards, industry UX design standards and branding guidelines with the ability to promote design centered thinking and best practices across development teams.

  • Collaborate with the product management, design and development teams to identify UX research topics and plan research efforts across multiple user types, devices and platforms finding opportunities to further improve the user experience.
  • Conduct user research activities to gain a better understanding of user pain points Activities include, but are not limited to design test plans, recruit users, moderate tests, analyze results and present insights to stakeholders
  • Become proficient in understanding how users use TeamMate’s suite of B2B products
  • Create design concepts, wireframes, workflow diagrams, mockups, prototypes and other product deliverables to effectively communicate design requirements.
  • Partner closely with developers, QA, and product managers to rapidly iterate on designs based on user feedback, technical design constraints, and market dynamics
  • Provide support to development and QA resources during implementation and testing.
  • Work closely with other team resources to ensure all designs meet usability and technical design standards, user experience best practices, industry design standards and branding guidelines.
  • Promote design centered thinking and best practices across teams

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience conducting user research and designing visual and interactive interfaces for cloud environments as a UX visual designer, interaction designer, information architect, front-end developer or similar role.
  • Working knowledge of an array of user research methodologies such as observation, interviews, surveys and usability testing
  • Experience creating and conducting user research plans as well as designing and performing usability studies (i.e., A/B testing)
  • Ability to summarize and analyze usability data from Pendo or similar product to perform iterative client-driven designs
  • Demonstrated skill and experience in creating concept designs, user flows/journeys, wireframes, mockups and other product deliverables to effectively communicate UX designs.
  • Strong working knowledge of usability standards (WCAG 2.0 AA), UCD methodologies and UX best practices.
  • Experience in a formal Agile development environment.
  • Ability to break research and design work down into tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of departments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills with the ability to bring simplicity and clarity to design specifications.

Preferred

  • 3+ years of UX design experience for large, enterprise applications (cloud environments).
  • Understanding of common software project management practices.
  • Understanding of common software development practices.
  • Working knowledge of CSS3, VueJS, Material Design and related technologies.
  • Ability to break research and design work down into tasks.
  • Experience with other front-end frameworks.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with various deadlines.

Education

  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
