Amazon Web Services provide the building blocks for how new Cloud applications are being built and adopted by thousands of leading companies across the world. At AWS groundbreaking new services are being built regularly and features for existing services are deployed daily. The AWS UX Research team is looking for a researcher who is looking for a unique challenge. This Senior UX Researcher will work with the AWS Benchmarking team which analyzes AWS services against competing solutions and guides strategic strategic decisions for leadership in AWS. The team has processes in place to evaluate Cloud Computing from a technical perspective, and now needs to expand those insights to include a holistic customer perspective. This Senior UX Researcher will lead the effort to build a research program to define how to evaluate, measure and report on the customer perspective for cloud computing solutions in AWS and against alternative solutions in industry.

  • Partner with AWS service teams to identify key use cases to focus on in research studies
  • Triangulate quantitative and qualitative research data with available metrics to deepen the understanding of the customer experience
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and developers on ways to improve the customer experience based on the results of your research

โ€Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years proven success leading UX research projects with demonstrated impact.
  • 3+ years of experience managing all stages of research design (study design, test creation, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting).
  • 3+ years of experience with research methods including: field research, usability, focus groups, survey design, and data analysis including statistical measures.
  • Portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g., study plans, reports, personas).
  • BS in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Human Computer Design Engineering or related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

โ€MS or Ph.D. in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Human Computer Design Engineering or related discipline.

Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.

An unfailing passion and capacity to advocate on behalf of our users.

Experience working in a highly agile/scrum environment.

User research or other experience from a technical field, such as software development, systems management or similar.

The ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Meets / exceeds Amazon leadership principle requirements for this role.
